Thomas Title & Escrow, a provider of commercial title insurance, real estate settlement and escrow services for both foreign and domestic transactions, has opened an office in Houston, which will be its second Texas location.

Thomas Title & Escrow president and CEO Frank Busch III said: “As Houston continues to see strong development and growth in its downtown core and surrounding neighborhoods, there will be a need for a trusted underwriting partner who can work quickly and effectively across the commercial real estate spectrum.
“We believe expanding our expertise into the Houston market will help fulfill that need.”
Matthew Skalka, Senior Vice President, opened the office, near the Houston Galleria in May. Before joining Thomas Title, Mr. Skalka served as associate senior underwriting counsel at Stewart Title Commercial Services where he specialized in energy, industrial and international projects. Mr. Skalka earned his law degree from the South Texas College of Law in Houston and has an MBA from Texas A&M University.
Thomas Title & Escrow’s Houston office specializes in both Energy Services and National Commercial Services transactions requiring comprehensive experience and a high level of sophistication.
The firm is an award-winning agent for multiple national underwriters. Mr. Busch notes that the commercial title and escrow industry is “typically dominated by a handful of large companies.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t always translate into flexible solutions or timely service levels for clients. We have been successful because we’ve delivered better results for our clients.”
