Many years of project experience - mainly in the environment of the process-integrated document creation - led to the development of the DOPE product suite in 1999, initially as an extension or rather as a replacement of the IBM text processing system ASF, which is used by major corporate clients.
The DOPE suite was expanded and became a modern development and production platform for all kinds of output. A huge variety of large-scale enterprises now use DOPE components as integral parts of ambitious projects that deal with application development.
More than half of Icon’s 60 employees deal with the product field. Icon is geared to open standards like Java, XML and other suggestions from the W3C consortium. Icon consultants ensure the ideal adaption of solutions to customers’ needs, which they create through detailed analysis. They also offer consequent project support, which leads to high customer satisfaction as well as user acceptance.
The icon clientele comprises more than 50 large-scale enterprises from the financial business, public administration and service sector.
Icon’s core product is the standard software DOPE/Dialog, a process-controlled correspondence system with rule-based text modules for automatic and interactive creation of highly personalised business documents (like correspondence, policies and contracts). Automatically and interactively generated correspondence plays an enormously important role in terms of an effective customer services strategy. DOPE/Dialog reduces the costs for design, programming, handling, printing as well as postal and forwarding charges. It reduces the time-to-market cycles and increases the quality of correspondence and the efficiency of processing.
