Zurich has selected Guidewire Software as the provider of a new claims handling platform for its UK general insurance division.

Capgemini Financial Services UK will implement the software into Zurich’s UK Claims operation.

The multi-year project is indented to transform claims processing, reduce costs, and improve the Zurich customer experience.

The platform and implementation aims to reduce manual processing, improve data management, to enhance decision-making and reduce fraud or leakage losses.

The ClaimCenter software platform is a single web-based system that provides consistent service and focus on delivering best claims handling process.

The software manages notification of loss through settlement, litigation, and recovery across the company’s UK Personal Lines, Commercial Broker and Zurich Municipal customers.

Zurich’s UK General Insurance business Chief Claims Officer Tony Emms said that the company’s claims handlers will also have the opportunity to use a modern claims handling system, which will bring their expertise to bear and help them dedicate more time to helping customers when they need it most.

"The new system will give improved claims data and allow us to respond more effectively to the growing demands of our brokers and customers and so improve the service we provide," Emms added.

Guidewire EMEA managing director Jeff Proudfoot said taht ClaimCenter offers general insurers the opportunity to deliver responsive and customer oriented service while improving the operating efficiency of their claims functions.

As the prime systems integrator, Capgemini will be responsible for the end to end solution encompassing the core Guidewire application as well as supporting technology and streams which include output management, legacy data migration and management information.
