York Risk Services Group, a New Jersey-based provider of of claims-handling, specialized loss adjusting and other risk management services, has said that its Alternative Risk Solutions (ARS) division has acquired the assets and assumed the contracts of California-based Great Western Administrators.

In addition, York also extended employment offers to Great Western’s employees and expects that they and the previous owners of Great Western will play an active role in the successful transition of services.

Great Western provides claim service oversight for four California Self-Insurance Groups (SIGs): California Livestock Producers (CLP); California Agricultural Products (CAP); California Contractors Network (CCN) and California Farm Management (CFM).

Tony Galioto, president and CEO of York Risk Services Group, said: “With this acquisition, we further enhance York’s capabilities as a premier provider of claims services to entities that employ alternative risk financing mechanisms.

“In addition to SIGs like Great Western’s, York also provides high-quality claims administration services to self -insureds, high deductible insureds, captive insurers of all types, risk pools and less common arrangements, such as corridor deductibles, super pools and loss portfolio transfers. York recognizes the unique relationships associated with the four SIGs and their administration partners, and we look forward to taking an expanded role in servicing their claims.”
