XL Insurance, the global insurance operations of XL Group, has promoted Uwe Schoberth, regional executive of Central Region, to executive vice president (EVP) and head of North America Property & Casualty (P&C) Regional Management.
He will be based in New York and will report to XL Insurance’s chief executive of North America P&C Seraina Maag.
Schoberth will manage XL Insurance’s regional operations throughout the US and Canada.
Schoberth will be responsible for overseeing distribution, marketing and sales strategies; managing broker and client relations; as well as managing the overall execution of the company’s business development strategy; and assuring the delivery of XL Insurance’s full array of P&C products and services to the marketplace.
Schoberth has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined XL Insurance following its 2001 acquisition of the Winterthur International Insurance where he served as branch manager for its Chicago operations. Prior to this, he served as regional manager for the Gerling Group’s Chicago office.
Maag said that Uwe and the strong, talented team supporting him will uncover worthwhile opportunities to build upon the solid reputation the company has in the market.
