Indianapolis-based health insurer WellPoint has entered into a strategic alliance with RLJ Insurance Services in a bid to enhance and extend its supplier diversity offerings.
As part of the alliance, the two companies will collectively work to offer medical stop loss products and services to group customers aiming to increase their Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation allocation.
The coverage will provide protection against catastrophic or unpredictable costs.
WellPoint commercial business unit executive vice president Ken Goulet said the strategic partnership is an excellent example of WellPoint’s ongoing commitment to supplier diversity to help improve the affordability of their products for its customers.
Maryland-based RLJ Insurance Services provides medical stop loss coverage through A and A+ rated insurance companies, as well as insurance and reinsurance solutions for voluntary benefits, healthcare, and property and casualty.
