Winner Life-Vienna Insurance Group, part of Austria-based Vienna Insurance Group, has received life insurance license from Macedonian insurance supervisory agency.
The license enables the VIG to continue extending its involvement and presence in Central and Eastern Europe.
Vienna Insurance said that sales activities will be carried out by the Sparkasse Bank Makedonija Skopje, which belongs to the Erste Group. Thus the sales agreement with the Erste Group will be expanded to 10 countries.
The VIG has been active in the non-life insurance sector in Macedonia since 2007 with Winner Vienna Insurance Group.
The VIG operate mostly in Central and Eastern Europe with approximately 23,000 employees.
The group is active in Albania, Bulgaria, Germany, Estonia, Georgia, Croatia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine and Belarus through interests it holds in insurance companies. The group also has branch offices in Italy and Slovenia.
