The Travelers Companies has appointed Gabriella Nawi as senior vice president of investor relations, effective July 7, 2008.
Ms Nawi will report to vice chairman and CFO Jay Benet and will serve on the company’s operating committee and will be based in New York City.
Ms Nawi joins Travelers from Lazard Asset Management, where she began her career in 1990. She has been covering the global insurance, banking and diversified financials sector since 1994, in analyst as well as portfolio manager roles.
She is currently serving as a managing director with responsibility for the US property casualty, life, reinsurance and brokerage sector.
Mr Benet said: Gabriella’s extensive hands-on experience analyzing and investing in property casualty and other companies in the financial services industry, evaluating their key characteristics and strengths and discussing her insights with various portfolio managers makes her an invaluable addition to our investor relations team.
