Transamerica Reinsurance, a division of Transamerica Life Insurance Company, has appointed Larry Moews as the new senior vice president, chief actuary and chief risk officer. In his new role, Mr Moews will report to Joe Gilmour, executive vice president and chief financial officer and will be responsible for overseeing all actuarial functions and guiding the execution of growth opportunities.

Prior to joining Transamerica, Mr Moews served as executive vice president and managing director of Allstate International. He has alsoserved as chairman of chief risk officer roundtable and on a number of other industry committees.

Mr Gilmour, said: “Larry brings a wealth of risk management experience and insight in both U.S. and international business lines. His knowledge and experience will be valuable to our organization as we enhance our focus on enterprise risk management and emerging regulatory standards.

Larry’s proven leadership and accomplishments in the financial services industry position him to contribute in significant ways to our business results.”
