Professional services firm Towers Watson has expanded its retail insurance brokerage business with the appointment of three senior brokers Craig Nelson, Steven Watts and Paul Perry, who will be responsible for aiding in the development, implementation and oversight of strategic risk management programs for corporate and public entity clients.

Mr Nelson, who is based in Denver, has more than 28 years of experience in the risk management and insurance brokerage industry, including 10 years running his own company and three years managing a large office for one of the world’s largest brokers. Most recently, he was a senior vice president for Beecher Carlson.

Mr Watts, who is located in Atlanta, is also a 28-year veteran, and has assisted in the acquisition of new clients within the fortune 1000 for property, casualty and executive liability insurance coverage, as well as associated risk management consulting assignments.

Based in Stamford, CT, Mr Perry, with 27 years of experience in risk management, joined Towers Watson from the Marsh organization, where he spent 22 years, most recently as a senior vice president and client executive. He began his career as a claims adjuster with the Travelers group, where he handled commercial auto and liability claims, and then joined a small retail broker.

James Hole, managing director of Towers Watson and a leader within the company’s reinsurance brokerage business, said: “Craig, Steven and Paul have stellar reputations for extraordinary client service and a keen eye on the myriad issues facing our clients. As we look to expand this important strategic growth area, we look to these three longtime industry leaders to utilize their analytical know-how and consultative support for our valued client base.”
