As part of the company's 'Think Hanover' program

The Hanover Insurance Group, a property and casualty insurer, has launched Travel Right, a smart protection for clients ‘on-the-go’, especially those with pets. The coverage endorsement can be added to new and existing Connections Auto policies and offers protection for trip interruption, rental cars and pet injury.

According to the company, the Travel Right protection for clients include Trip interruption protection that covers drivers when they have a covered loss over 100 miles away from home and their auto cannot be safely driven. Rental car coverage protects policyholders in the event of a covered loss to a rented automobile.

In addition, the cover also includes Pet injury protection, which pays up to $500 for veterinary fees and $500 for burial fees if the insured’s dog or cat is injured or killed while occupying the insured’s auto at the time of a covered loss.

Reportedly, the introduction of Travel Right coverage is part of the company’s ‘Think Hanover’ program, a series of more than two dozen significant product, service and technology investments that The Hanover is making in its personal lines business in 2009.

Marita Zuraitis, president of property and casualty companies at The Hanover, said: We are committed to doing more than any other carrier to help our agent partners create value for their customers. And, this is just one more example of the significant investments and enhancements that we are making in our personal lines business this year. That’s a great reason for winning agents to ‘Think Hanover’.”
