The Hartford Financial Services Group, an insurance and financial services company, has appointed Robert Rupp as executive vice president and chief risk officer.

Rupp will report to company’s chairman, president and CEO Liam McGee. He will succeed Lizabeth Zlatkus, who is retiring.

Rupp comes to The Hartford with more than 30 years of financial services experience across a broad range of disciplines, including risk management, investments, strategy, treasury and regulatory compliance.

He most recently served as executive vice president and head of Enterprise-wide Market Risk at BNY Mellon.

Prior to that, Rupp was managing director of risk management at JP Morgan Chase. Earlier in his career, he oversaw fixed income trading, sales, syndicate and banking groups at Chemical Bank.
