India-based Tata AIG General Insurance Company has rolled out an assortment of three new health insurance policies, namely MediPlus, MediSenior and MediRaksha.

MediPlus is a smart and affordable top-up health plan, MediSenior has been designed as a health cover for senior customers, as reported by the PTI.

A basic medical insurance plan, MediRaksha has been created with aims at residents in the semi-urban and rural locations and for the economically backward sections.

Tata AIG General Insurance managing director and chief executive KK Mishra was quoted by PTI as saying: "These new plans are a comprehensive offering with a unique set of features that distinguishes itself from the existing gamut of health insurance products currently available for all.

"With the ever-rising costs of healthcare services and rising inflation, senior citizens are grappling to keep up with basic medical expenses."

The policy offers a waiver of deductible feature that enables the policyholder to migrate to the private sector general insurer’s full-fledged indemnity-based health insurance policy without any deductible for an insured sum of INR5lakh ($8164) during his/her retirement years between 58 and 60.

MediSenior offers complete coverage against in-patient hospitalization, pre- and post- hospitalization, daycare procedures, domiciliary and organ donor expenses, emergency ambulance. Policy holders can use the cashless claim settlement across an extensive network of hospitals.

MediRaksha is a cover specifically designed for tier two and three markets or for those who fall under the lower income class of the society.
