Systema Software, a leading provider of claims administration software and services to the insurance industry, announced that Pennsylvania and Indiana Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Companies have selected SIMS Claims as the new claims system in the companies' best-of-breed legacy replacement project.

"We started a modernization project three years ago to replace all of our core legacy systems, including policy, billing, and claims. Selecting Systema Software and SIMS Claims marks the final phase of this project," said Joseph McGurrin, Vice President of Information Technology at Pennsylvania and Indiana Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Companies.

"Within this best-of-breed approach, we acquired the policy and claim systems, and decided to build our own billing system in-house. In regards to claims software, we found Systema Software to be the best vendor out there. We met their team and felt confident we could forge a close partnership."

Currently, the two affiliated insurance companies utilize separate legacy claims systems. Claims from both systems will be consolidated onto SIMS, and Systema Software will host the solution through its reliable, secure, and high-performing SIMS Cloud environment.

Jose Tribuzio, CEO of Systema Software, commented, "We’re thrilled to have SIMS selected as the claims solution in this sophisticated multi-legacy replacement project. Pennsylvania and Indiana Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Companies have a reputation for delivering quality commercial insurance and superior customer service to the lumber, woodworking, and building materials industries.

Together, they serve as one of the premier niche insurance carriers in the United States. Adding them to our growing roster of distinguished insurance companies shows that SIMS provides the right combination of functionality, flexibility, and integration carriers want and need in a best-of-breed approach."

"In our evaluation, there were several factors that made SIMS stand out," added McGurrin.

"First, its .NET and SQL based platform made it a perfect technology fit. It has verified interfaces with our policy system, so we’ll be able to seamlessly share information between policy and claims.

"Systema also offers a sophisticated business intelligence (BI) module, SIMS Insight, so we’ll be able to leverage powerful data reporting and analytic capabilities to manage our business and make strategic decisions."
