Sun Life Financial has appointed Tom Gilligan as national sales manager for its Voluntary Benefits Distribution.
Gilligan will report to Voluntary Benefits vice president Bob Klein and will work from the Wellesley, Massachusetts, home office.
In his new role, Gilligan will be responsible for leading and developing the Voluntary Benefits sales team, while Sun Life continues to build Voluntary capabilities.
Bob Klein said that Gilligan’s industry experience will assist the company to provide Voluntary capabilities for brokers, employers, and employees.
Sun Life provides Voluntary benefits for employers to offer their workforce group insurance benefits, paid for partially or entirely by employees.
Klein added, "Under Tom’s leadership, our sales force will partner with our Employee Benefits Representatives to become a powerful touchpoint to our customers for voluntary benefits."
Prior to joining Sun Life, Gilligan served Colonial Life as senior vice president of National Sales.
