Salesforce.com said that Sompo Japan Insurance has deployed salesforce and partner portal to 375,000 employees and agents, enabling the property insurance company and its partners to collaborate in real-time across enterprise boundaries.

According to Salesforce.com, Sompo Japan has implemented its sales cloud and partner portal as part of Sompo’s retail business model innovation project, a strategic initiative focused on realizing customer-centric business processes.

The Partner Portal serves as centerpiece of Sompo Japan’s agent management system. The cloud application offers features such as to-do lists and customer contact histories. These features aggregate customer information, including inquiries, payments, policies, and contracts, from various channels and empower Sompo Japan and its agents to collaborate in real-time across company boundaries.

The company said that Sompo Japan has selected its service and support application because it could be customized and deployed efficiently. Sompo Japan has also planned to take advantage of cloud computing as its IT platform for a variety of business operations.

Shiro Kosaka, director of IT Planning at Sompo Japan, said: Sompo Japan has chosen salesforce.com’s cloud applications because they are easy to customize and implement. For our partner network, we received tremendous support from salesforce.com’s US headquarters, which helped us on all our service requirements.
