Securian Financial Group, a Minnesota-based financial holding company, has appointed Leslie Chapman, currently vice president and chief actuary, as new chief risk officer (CRO).

In her new role, Chapman will oversaw the five-year, multifaceted development of Securian’s enterprise risk management (ERM) program which is in daily use by all Securian business units and financial management departments.

Securian Financial Group chairman and CEO Robert Senkler said Securian’s strong risk management is one of the primary reasons we successfully weathered the recent financial crisis and remain one of the nation’s strongest financial services companies.

Leslie’s creativity and leadership have been a tremendous asset as we’ve developed our risk management program and will serve her and the company well in her role as CRO, Senkler said.
