Insurance group RSA has acquired the assets of Canada's travel insurance distributor Expert Travel Financial Services (etfs).

Headquartered in Quebec, etfs provides a full range of travel and health insurance products to students, groups, individuals and expatriates.

etfs’ products are sold and marketed to the end-consumer through insurance brokers, travel agents, consultants and third party administrators.

The gross assets acquired by RSA are GBP 3m.

In addition, RSA will acquire etfs’ trademarks and access to distribution network.

RSA said the transaction does not include etfs’s claims and assistance subsidiary Global Excel Management (GEM).

RSA president and CEO Rowan Saunders said this deal provides RSA with the opportunity to further deliver competitive products and travel expertise to the market.
