Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) has launched its new operation in Istanbul, Turkey, as part of its global strategy of building presences in markets worldwide.
Gokhan Ozum has been named as general manager of the new liaison office, which represents RGA’s 26th office across the globe.
RGA international markets and operations head and executive vice president Allan O’Bryant said that Turkish economy was growing rapidly and attracting new opportunities.
"This new operation represents for RGA a strong continuation of our global strategy of building presences in markets worldwide staffed by highly experienced professionals with deep understanding of and familiarity with the local market," O’Bryant added.
Prior to joining RGA, Ozum worked for seven years as senior vice president with Garanti Pension and Life Company, where he was responsible for product development and strategic planning.
The company operates as a life reinsurance and related products and services company and delivers individual life reinsurance, individual living benefits reinsurance, retakaful, group reinsurance, facultative underwriting, product development, and financial solutions.
RGA manages subsidiaries or offices in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, UAE, UK and US.
