The proposed merger of the Dutch health insurance businesses of Agis Health Insurance, Menzis Health and Income, Delta Lloyd and OHRA Health has been cancelled, Aviva's Dutch arm Delta Lloyd has announced.

The agreement to merge the health insurance operations was contingent upon the approval of the appropriate regulators of all three health insurers. The councils of Menzis Health and Income decided to reject the proposal, meaning the merger plans had to be adandoned.

Delta Lloyd said that it will continue to explore opportunities in the market and remains confident in its healthcare insurance business.
