Norwich Union Healthcare has introduced Key Account Solutions, an enhanced service on group income protection policies held by large corporate clients.

With employee sickness absence currently costing British businesses GBP12.2 billion a year, Key Account Solutions will provide employers with better understanding of the cost of staff absence in their workplace and highlight potential wellness issues to be tackled within the organization.

The enhancements see clients offered a consultative service that includes ongoing analysis of the group income protection (GIP) scheme – enabling clients to track trends in claims, plus advice on ways to improve the scheme – and acts as a budgeting tool for staff sickness in offering insights into the impact on premiums based on current analysis.

The service offers tailored claim reports containing information and commentary for the scheme, including claims performance, status of current claims and comparison data. It also provides two meetings per year with a designated key account manager to review and improve scheme performance.

Nick Homer, senior propositions development manager of Norwich Union, said: We work closely with our clients to ensure we’re offering them a service tailored to their working practices and commercial needs. Key Account Solutions uses our wellness expertise to help our clients identify trends in claims and subsequent actions that can be taken to improve the performance of the scheme and the health of their workforce.
