Nippon Life Benefits, the US subsidiary of Nippon Life Insurance, has appointed Bruce Walker as its new senior vice president and CFO.

Walker will report to COO Francine Young and will be responsible for the company’s finance and treasury functions in his new role.

Nippon Life Benefits president and CEO Toshihiro Nakashima said Bruce’s is an accomplished financial services executive and his experience and leadership will strengthen their team and will enable Nippon to continue expanding to meet the growing demand from clients.

Walker worked for Guardian Life Insurance Company as Group Insurance chief accountant prior to joining Nippon.

Before that, he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Swiss Re Life and Health Canada and as head of financial services at Swiss Re America Holding.

Earlier, he also worked in the financial institution practice of KPMG, in Canada and Australia.
