UK internet insurance comparison business Gocompare.com has unveiled plans to launch a major GBP1.5million consumer marketing campaign in March.

Gocompare.com, an independent start-up company based Newport, Wales, only went live in November 2006 but claims to already be making significant inroads into the rapidly expanding insurance comparison market.

The company, which was set up by one of the key figures behind comparison site Confused.com, believes that it is breaking new ground in this niche market by comparing products on a like for like basis, not just purely on price.

The company, which is an authorized representative of Europa Group Limited, started with car insurance but has since added a breakdown cover comparison service and is about to launch a motorcycle insurance comparison offering. Gocompare.com also plans to introduce a range of other insurances later this year.

Gocompare.com has a number of insurance partnerships in place, including Swiftcover.com, More Th>n, Norwich Union and Endsleigh. It will, no doubt, be hoping to secure more partnerships, as well as more customers, with its upcoming marketing drive.
