New York Life Insurance has promoted James Bain to senior vice president and head of the Application Development organization in the Corporate Information Department. He will report to senior vice president and chief information officer Eileen Slevin.

In his new role, Bain will be responsible for systems development supporting the entire US Insurance operations, including US Life & Agency, retirement income security, individual policy services and corporate operations.

Previously, Bain was first vice president overseeing system development for Corporate and Distribution systems. Prior to this, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the controller’s, agency and corporate information departments. Bain joined New York Life in 1976.
