Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton (Nelson Levine) has boosted its insurance regulatory capabilities with the appointment of Lawrence Mirel and Marc Voses.

Mirel will join the firm’s Washington, DC office as a partner in the Insurance Regulation Practice, whereas Voses will serve as a partner in the Insurance Coverage Practice at its New York office.

With 25 years of insurance-related experience, Mirel has served for more than six years as the commissioner of Insurance, Securities and Banking for the District of Columbia.

Prior to joining Nelson Levine, Mirel served as a partner and co-chair of the Insurance Regulation and Legislation Group at Wiley Rein.

Voses has been advising insurers and reinsurers in large exposure, complex claims and coverage matters arising from various product lines, including Directors&Officers, Financial Lines, and Errors&Omissions.

Prior to joining Nelson Levine, he was a partner in the New York office of Edwards Wildman Palmer.
