Rhode Island-based Narragansett Bay Insurance Company (NBIC) has deployed BlueWave Technology’s PipelineClaims 4.2 software application as one of the core solutions in its Project APEX technology modernization initiative.

BlueWave said that Project APEX is to modernize NBIC’s in-house legacy systems and establish an advanced technology environment that would enable NBIC to deliver better client services, platform scalability, business alignment and the product agility needed to transform the homeowners’ insurance marketplace. The project consists of a multi-phased implementation with a best-of-breed approach.

According to the BlueWave, the PipelineClaims was selected by NBIC to consolidate IT processes and create more fluid claims management. NBIC’s requirements for a new claims system dictated the selected solution would be web-based, customizable and able to improve claims turnaround time, all traits inherent to PipelineClaims.

In addition, NBIC wanted the new solution to be responsive enough to handle the company’s current claims volume while also capturing all the data vital to underwriting better business.

Mike Anselmo, chief information officer at NBIC, said: “The functionality PipelineClaims provides to enhance our claims process and overall customer service for our agents and clients are fully integrated and available to authenticated users, anywhere and anytime. The BlueWave team is well-organized, understands the claims business and continues to be an important partner of ours.”

Bob Khosropur, chief claims officer for NBIC, said: “The BlueWave Technology team has worked as partners with us throughout the implementation, allowing the PipelineClaims project to be a smooth roll-out for our organization. PipelineClaims is a user-friendly, intuitive and highly-functional system that has made the switch from our old system a welcome change.”

NBIC is a provider of specialty insurance services and products to homeowners through a network of independent agents along the Eastern seaboard.
