Navigators Management Company (NMC), the underwriting agency subsidiary of The Navigators Group, has expanded its online system for contractors pollution liability insurance.

According to Navigators, the new enhancements to the online platform include options for affirmative coverage for fungus/mold caused by negligent contracting operations; increased available limits up to $2m each occurrence / $4m all occurrences; and an increased revenue threshold for eligible contractors up to $10m in annual contracting receipts.

The online system targets small- to medium-sized service and trade contractors and can accommodate over 70 different contracting categories, Navigators said.

The small business contractors pollution liability program is underwritten for US-based companies on behalf of Navigators Insurance Company and Navigators Specialty Insurance.

Navigators Environmental head of contractors pollution liability insurance Greg Heidemann said while much of the construction sector has slowed, NMC continue to see more and more contractors of all sizes being contractually required to carry pollution liability insurance at limits higher than the traditional $1m each occurrence / $2m all occurrences.

"In response to such demand, our new enhancements, along with other tailored coverages like affirmative Silt & Sedimentation, Defense Outside the Limits, Transportation Pollution Liability and Waste Disposal Site Liability," Heidemann said.
