Navigator, one of two specialist financial services companies that make up Aviva Australia, has added eight new funds to its Personal Investment Plan and Personal Retirement Plan services.

The funds include the Australian Unity Wholesale High Yield Mortgage Trust, Challenger Australian Share Fund, Credit Suisse Global Hybrid Income Fund, and the Vanguard International Property Securities Index Fund (Hedged).

Commenting on the development, Navigator’s research manager Stuart Fechner said: We’ve experienced a varied range of interest in different funds in recent months, especially in regards to funds with quite specific investment strategies. The funds added reflect this incorporating exposure specifically to assets such as Asian equities, mortgages, hybrid assets, commercial property, infrastructure assets and global property.

Aviva said the majority of investments made via the Navigator Personal Investment Plan and Retirement Plan were into the more traditional asset classes including Australian shares, international shares and Australian property.
