Subsidiaries of the Mondial Assistance Group, including Elvia, France Secour and their shared services company, are to merge to form a single entity known as Mondial Assistance France, effective from January 1, 2007.

The purpose of the merger is to provide a simplified legal structure of Mondial Assistance in France, as well as to improve its performance and results. The regrouping into a single operational entity is thought to ease the complexity of the legal structures. The new company will now act under the same brand, Mondial Assistance.

In its current configuration, the Mondial Assistance Group is the result of the merger in 2000 of three groups: Mondial Assistance, Elvia and World Access, explains Klaus Duhrkop, president of the executive committee of Mondial Assistance Group. This project is in full keeping with our strategy, for which one of the priorities is simplification. Convergence is one of the concrete applications of this strategy in France.

The new entity will now comprise of three centers of expertise – banks and insurance, travel, leisure and mobility, and car manufacturers, rental companies alongside mutual insurance and provident fund institutions. All three share the same medical platform and all non-operational support functions.
