Medicus Insurance, a Texas-based medical professional liability insurance (MPLI) carrier, has appointed James O'Hare as new claims director for its MPLI business.
In this new role, O’Hare will be responsible for the professional and successful resolution of claims.
Prior to joining Medicus, O’Hare was vice president of claims for Physicians Insurance Company.
He has 26 years of experience in the medical professional liability field and has personally investigated, assessed and disposed of numerous medical professional liability claims. He also monitored more than 75 trials to conclusion.
Medicus Insurance president Eugenie Shea said Jim’s expertise in professional liability will directly impact the ability to keep the clients’ rates low.
