Maximus, a US-based provider of operations program management and consulting services, has launched its Health Insurance Exchange offerings to help US states address the federal regulatory requirements under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Under ACA, states are required to establish an operational exchange to offer qualified health insurance plans to individuals and small businesses by January 1, 2014.

According to the company, the exchange will meet all federal and state requirements for running health insurance programs.

To help states meet the department of health and human services ‘readiness determination’ deadline of January 1, 2013 and the health insurance exchange ‘go-live’ deadline of January 1, 2014, the Maximus exchange solutions focus on three key areas.

It will provide assessment solutions to help states analyze their current infrastructure, translate the federal requirements to their unique situations, and develop a best fit strategy operations support to take this custom strategy and provide the necessary technology and program management support.

Bruce Caswell, president and general manager of Maximus Health Services, said: “Our exchange solutions utilize our extensive government health insurance program experience to apply best practices that address each state’s unique challenges of expanding coverage and meeting the federal requirements.”
