Marsh & McLennan Companies has appointed Ben Allen as its new chief innovation officer.

In this newly created role, Allen will partner with leadership teams at Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman to create market-driven products and solutions that help drive growth for the firm as a whole.

Allen becomes a member of the Marsh & McLennan Companies executive committee, reporting to group president and chief operating officer Dan Glaser.

Allen had previously been president and CEO of Kroll, a unit of Marsh & McLennan Companies. Prior to that, he held a number of leadership positions at Kroll, including chief operating officer and, from 2002-2007, president of Kroll’s Ontrack subsidiary.
