Mapfre Insurance has launched its DriveAdvisor Program in the state of Oregon, a voluntary program as part of its ongoing commitment to improve driver safety.

Customers using telematics technology to monitor their driving behaviour can avail an auto insurance discount through DriveAdvisor.

The DriveAdvisor device stores and transmits data on how a vehicle is operated, including information such as acceleration, braking, vehicle speed, and number of miles driven.

Mapfre Insurance president and CEO Jaime Tamayo said, "Our goal is to improve driver behavior and roadway safety by providing our customers with meaningful driving performance feedback through the DriveAdvisor Program."

Customers using the device receive confidential feedback online about their driving behavior and offers ways to improve safe driving.
