Financial services company Lloyds TSB has reportedly made a bid to acquire Dresdner Bank from insurance company Allianz.
According to media reports, Lloyds may exchange its Scottish Widows life assurance business for Dresdner with Allianz. The deal is still in its early stage.
The Financial Times has reported that Lloyds is also considering plans to purchase Postbank, a German retail banking network.
