UK-based insurance underwriter BGL Group has appointed Peter Thompson as the managing director of Junction, the group's insurance affinity arm. Mr Thompson will join the group in January 2008.
Mr Thompson will be joining the group from HBOS, where he has worked since 2003. Prior to this, he was with Royal & SunAlliance, where he was responsible for non motor personal lines corporate partnerships.
Matthew Donaldson, group director at BGL Group, said: Junction has played a significant role in the BGL Group’s success over the last few years and we were looking for a candidate of the highest calibre. Peter Thompson is a highly motivated professional and has a proven track record of delivering results in a number of challenging roles. I have no doubt he will prove to be a strong leader well equipped to realize the ambition that we have for Junction.
Mr Thompson said: I am delighted to be taking Junction into its next phase. It has a phenomenally strong infrastructure and benefits from being part of the wider BGL Group which is going from strength to strength. Judging by our pipeline, the role promises to be extremely exciting.
