JLT Reinsurance Brokers (JLT Re) has opened it's new office in Basel, Switzerland. The move follows the acquisition of US Re's Basel based treaty reinsurance business portfolio and assets.
The reinsurance broker said that the new Basel branch will be headed by Mark Lucas. The new branch also marks the JLT Re’s entry into life reinsurance.
Mark has nearly 30 years of industry experience, initially working for Guy Carpenter in Europe and most recently for US Re where he established their branch office, responsible for production and placement of European non-life and life reinsurance business into the world market as well as product development.
JLT Re chairman Alan Griffin said Mark and new location in Basel are excellent additions to the expanding operations. Basel will give JLT Re a base from which to expand in all areas of Reinsurance into mainland Europe and extend relationships with its European International network colleagues.
