To develop the IPS presence in North America

IPS Group has appointed Douglas Terry as senior vice president of IPS Search, its North American retained search division, located in Chicago. Mr. Terry will report to James Evan-Cook, president of IPS Search, and will be based in Chicago.

In his new role, Mr Terry will resume providing domestic and international search and selection consultation to insurance, healthcare, and financial services clients he has developed and partnered with, since 1978. He will also be responsible for the development of the IPS presence in North America beside supporting the growth of their international businesses.

Mr. Terry has been assisting IPS since December 2008. Previously, he served as MD of Jacobson Executive Search and led senior-level client searches on a national basis in the property & casualty and life & health arenas.

Mr. Evan-Cook, president of IPS Search, said: “We are extremely excited to have Doug as part of our US team, and I personally am delighted to reconnect with Doug and partner with him as we look forward to continuing to grow our US business.”

Alan Charlesworth, MD of IPS Group, said: “We run a business which has operated as a leading insurance search and selection consultancy in the London, Lloyd’s and International Insurance markets since 1970.”

Mr. Terry said: “To say that I am excited about partnering with IPS is a great understatement! Reuniting with James, a former colleague, and finding the dynamic support of our UK and Asian businesses has been inspiring! IPS offers a broad platform of recruiting and consulting services throughout our global businesses. That creates a very responsive and flexible approach for the client seeking a search campaign manager. Further, the current state of the recruitment marketplace requires a consultative, client-centric approach that is tailored to their needs and not an arbitrary process.”
