To widen its market reach

HumanaOne, an health arm of Humana, has unveiled new individual dental insurance and vision plans on www.humanaonedental.com. With the launch of these products, it also is expanding its affordable dental and vision plans to a number of states it had not previously served.

Steven DeRaleau, chief operating officer of HumanaOne, said: “We’re excited to be expanding to new areas of the country at a time when more and more people are in the market for individual health products, including dental and vision plans. These are affordable plans for the self-employed or for people who may not have dental and vision coverage through their employer’s group plan.”

The dental PPO plan, called HumanaOne Dental Preventive Plus plan, offers coverage within network on many diagnostic and preventive procedures, including office visits, periodic oral evaluations, examinations (routine, emergency, periodontal), cleanings, X-rays, sealants and fluoride treatments. The plan, which is being offered through HumanaDental Insurance, is currently available in 30 states with plans to expand to 46 states.

The vision plan, called HumanaOne Vision Care Plan (VCP), offers annual eye exams and lenses for a low co-payment. It includes a wholesale frame allowance and discounts on Lasik. The plan, which is being offered through Humana Insurance, is initially available in 16 states with plans to expand to 23 states.
