Kentucky-based health care company, Humana has completed the acquisition of California-based Medicare Advantage HMO, MD Care.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to the health insurer, the acquisition expands Humana’s Medicare Advantage membership by 15,000 members in four Southern California counties including Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
Both the health care companies are working together to ensure a seamless transition of the Medicare business and to communicate to members about their new Humana coverage.
The acquisition will not interrupt the coverage and provides its members with same health care providers and similar existing benefits.
Humana, headquartered in Louisville, offers a wide range of insurance products and health and wellness services.
