The Hilb Group, a portfolio company of ABRY Partners, has acquired Massachusetts-based insurer Dowling & O’Neil.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Established in 1841, Dowling & O’Neil offers general property and casualty insurance products in the New England region.

The firm is specialized in providing high net worth personal lines and healthcare products to its customers.

Dowling & O’Neil co-owner Rob Miller said: "Joining The Hilb Group will allow us to bring additional resources to New England, through a strong national network."

The Hilb Group president and CEO Bob Hilb said: "Rob and Mark have built a great agency with an exceptionally talented team.

"Their expertise in both high net worth personal lines and health care facilities are terrific enhancements to our company’s service offerings."

Last October, Hilb Group acquired Florida-based independent insurance agency, Gentry Insurance Agency (GIA).

Established in 1937, GIA provides services to multiple insurance firms, allowing them to offer enhanced insurance solutions for their individual, family and business clients.

The Hilb Group, which is a middle market insurance agency, provides services through its 36 offices in different states of the US.
