UK-based Higos Insurance Services has continued its expansion with the acquisition of Bridport-based broker RM Gillingham & Son.
Higos provides cover, service and advice with 17 offices located throughout Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, South Gloucestershire, Devon and Wiltshire, and with representatives located throughout the UK.
The deal with RM Gillingham & Son follows the successful acquisitions of Vaughan Insurance Brokers in the Somerset market town of Crewkerne.
Under this deal, current managing director, Richard Gillingham, became managing director in 1988 and all Gillingham staff will be retained.
Gillingham said the decision to join with Higos was motivated by shared goals of professionalism, providing the best service to clients with a wider range of competitive products and excellent career opportunities for staff.
Higos founder and managing director Ian Gosden said the company has more than twenty years experience of providing tailored solutions for a wide range of personal and commercial insurance needs.
"Alongside our acquisition plans, we continue to bring new and innovative ideas and products to the market," Gosden said.
As a part of this aqusition, the office will trade as Gillinghams Insurance Services from 1 December 2011.
