Heffernan Insurance Brokers, one of the largest full-service, independent insurance brokerage firms in the US, recently announced a new cyber insurance program, which offers a customized solution for data security and other risks restaurants face.
The program, currently endorsed by Golden Gate Restaurant Association, provides coverage for claims brought against restaurant owners as a result of a data breach, as well as coverage for certain direct costs incurred from responding to a breach, regardless of whether a claim is ever brought.
"We have seen a dramatic increase of cyber-attacks in the restaurant industry and we are thrilled to offer restaurant owners a way to protect their business from the continual risk of data breaches," said Amy Vitarelli, Heffernan Insurance Brokers’ Senior Vice President and Restaurant and Hospitality Practice Leader.
With cyber insurance program coverage, Heffernan also provides immediate access to a risk management portal containing valuable information such as data security best practices, and state-by-state summaries of data privacy laws.
Limit options of $500,000, $1,000,000 and $2,000,000 are available, with minimum premiums as low as $975.
