The Hanover Insurance Group has announced the availability of emergency event management coverage to help protect at-risk organizations, including educational institutions, hospitality businesses and religious institutions against potential threats, violent acts or specific illnesses that interrupt business operations.

This new coverage can be added as an endorsement to the Hanover’s Avenues Commercial Package Policy, reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing its network of independent agents a broad appetite and total solution for their small to mid-sized commercial customers.

Hanover noted that emergency event management coverage helps organizations protect themselves from the financial impact associated with a broad range of risks, such as actual or attempted violent acts; contamination from bacterial micro-organisms transmitted through human contact with food; suspension of operations due to contaminated food; specified felonies, such as child abduction, sexual assault, or criminal use of a firearm; and other emergency incidents such as fire, explosion or workplace accidents that result in adverse regional or national news coverage of the insured’s business.

David Firstenberg, commercial lines president at The Hanover Insurance Group, said: We make a personal commitment to understanding the needs of our independent agents. Emergency event management is a good example of our ability to transform this understanding into products that our agents need to help their clients protect themselves across the risk spectrum. We live in a tumultuous world and emergency event management offers business owners an option to help mitigate some of the serious risks they face.
