The Hanover Insurance Group has named Jerome Guiney as the new regional vice president of its commercial lines business for the southeast US.

Mr Guiney will be responsible for the company’s Georgia and Tennessee territories. He comes to Hanover from The Hartford where, as assistant regional vice president in the company’s Atlanta office, he was responsible for overseeing sales and underwriting for all property and casualty segments.

Mr Guiney earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St Michael’s College, Winooski, Vermont, and holds a chartered property casualty underwriter designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

Doug McDonough, regional president for Hanover’s southeast region, said: Jerome’s industry knowledge and experience make him an outstanding addition to our team. Jerome will help us to deliver on our promises as we build strong, mutually successful relationships with our agent partners over the long term.
