Hanover Insurance Group has introduced a new set of professional liability coverages for architects and engineers across the US.

The solution named as Architects & Engineers Advantage will be offered on an admitted basis. It targets a variety of disciplines for design professionals in full-time private practice with annual gross billings up to $10m.

The insurance product will target on the firms that focus on architecture; electrical; mechanical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning engineering; interior design and surveying; aerial mapping and landscape architecture.

According to the Hanover, the solution offers more than three-dozen new coverages which includes: design/build coverage for professional; time delays caused by professional; automatic 30 days of coverage for newly acquired entities and pollution coverage for professional services.

The solution also provides coverages for ADA/FHA/OSHA claims: $25,000 defense costs plus up to $250/day for salaries and expenses; punitive damages unless prohibited by law and free pre-claims assistance.

In addition to professional liability coverage, the firm offers its agent partners a comprehensive line-up of property and casualty insurance product solutions for their clients including property, general liability, workers compensation, surety, umbrella and auto.

Hanover Professional Portfolio president Gerald Merritt said Hanover estimates that there are more than 100,000 architectural and engineering firms in the US and half may not have professional liability coverage.
