Great American Insurance Group (GAIC) has signed an asset purchase agreement with the Darlene and Larry Freeman owned Texas-based Employers Comp Associates (ECA) and Freeman Administrative Solutions (FAS).
The GAIC’s purchase designates Darlene Freeman as the Divisional President of ECA and FAS.
ECA provides the employers’ primary indemnity coverage for employers opting out of the Texas Workers’ Compensation system and also the occupational accident coverage for independent owner/operator truckers.
FAS is a claims administrator specializing in the handling the employers’ primary indemnity and occupational accident claims.
The acquisition also supports the GAIC strategy of building and acquiring specialty insurance businesses and adds the two companies to its specialty P&C businesses portfolio, according to Great American Insurance.
