Pennsylvania-based Glatfelter Program Managers, a programme business division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, has acquired senior living and religious organisations programmes from Houston-based Bunker Hill Underwriters Agency.

The Senior Living book underwritten by QBE and Beazley comprises all lines for skilled care, assisted and independent living, and continuing care retirement communities as well as group and personal care homes.

Senior Living does not include workers compensation and will be grouped with Glatfelter HCCIS programme under a new Glatfelter Healthcare Practice division.

The Religious Organisation programme underwritten by Chartis and includes churches, synagogues and temples and will now be branded as Glatfelter Religious Practice, writing all lines except workers’ compensation.

Both Glatfelter healthcare practice and religious practice are written on a national basis and are distributed on an open brokerage basis largely through brokers using a combination of admitted and non-admitted markets.

The existing team of Bunker Hill’s underwriters and claims managers will join Glatfelter Insurance Group as new associates and underwriting and claims will be implemented from the company’s new Houston office.
