Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) has named Shawn Burklin as the new regional vice president of its West Coast operations, responsible for California, Hawaii, and Alaska.
Previously, Burklin served as vice president of GEICO’s Southeast operations, headquartered at its Macon, Georgia, regional office.
Burklin joined GEICO in 1995 in the claims department. In 1997 his legal background led to his assignment as a claims attorney and by 2000 he was named a senior claims attorney.
In addition, Burklin went on to serve as assistant vice president of claims for GEICO’s Lakeland, Florida, regional office before being named vice president of corporate claims in 2007.
GEICO is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and is a private passenger auto insurer in the US. It provides auto insurance coverage for nine million policyholders and insures more than 16 million vehicles.
