Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO), a member of Berkshire Hathaway, has named Kirk La as assistant vice president of the GEICO Insurance Agency.

La will be responsible for the company’s property insurance, boat insurance, overseas insurance and other specialty lines. He will continue to serve in the Buffalo office.

Having begun his career with GEICO as a management intern in 1997, La became director of GEICO’s Motorcycle and Powersports division in 2003.

The company has also named Pionne Corbin as assistant vice president of underwriting in its Buffalo regional operation.

Corbin, who joined GEICO in 1993, will succeed La as assistant vice president of the company’s Buffalo office. She will be responsible for all regional underwriting operations.

Prior to this appointment, Corbin served as director of the company’s commercial auto division since July 2012. She joined the division in 2009 as commercial operations manager.

GEICO is the private passenger auto insurance company in the US and serves more than 12 million private passenger customers and insures more than 18 million vehicles, including auto & cycle.
