Erie Indemnity Company, a provider of home & tenant insurance policies and boat insurance, has appointed two new executive vice presidents effective 1 September 2010.
John Kearns has been appointed as the company’s new executive vice president of sales & marketing, who will will oversee its sales & agency and strategic marketing divisions.
Kearns joined the company in 2007 as senior vice president and division officer of commercial lines underwriting. Prior to that he worked at Sun Alliance in Dublin, Ireland and also served as CEO of St Paul Ireland.
The company has also appointed George Dufala as the executive vice president of services, who will be responsible for the claims and corporate services divisions.
Dufala previously served as senior vice president of Erie Family Life Insurance Company. He joined The Erie in 1993 in field operations and has held several positions, including regional vice president and senior vice president of customer service operations.
Erie president and CEO Terrence Cavanaugh said that the addition of John and Chip to executive team further positions the company to enhance business while strengthening capabilities in marketing, sales and service.
